Heart= verdant jungle

I started getting ideas for this piece before I finished the piece I was working on. The name came before the idea was fully realized, and this was the first painting that set me on the journey of exploring the chakras as represented by nature.

Using the traditional 12 point geometry of the heart chakra, My Heart is a Jungle is loosely inspired by Henri Rousseau’s jungle paintings. A deep verdant space where anything can hide. A place of unlimited growth and potential, but wild and untamed when not tended to.
